Coming Soon!

At the moment I am working on a launch event for Daydream Cinema. I want to have a Relaxed Screening event in Spring which marks both Neurodiversity Celebration Week and Autism Acceptance Month.

This will be a full day of film screenings featuring short films, feature films and documentaries.

There will be something for audiences of all ages. All screenings will have descriptive subtitles and the event will take place in a wheelchair accessible venue. I hope to have more details about the event soon!

I am launching an open submission process to promote a range of local and international short films, and support neurodivergent filmmakers and audiences.

What next?

For Daydream Cinema’s long term plans, I hope to partner with local and national organisations to deliver projects which focus on film, access, neurodiversity, disability awareness and community.

I would like to partner with local and national film exhibitors to work on accessible cinema development and projects.

Get in touch if you are a cinema, film festival or arts venue who is:

  • looking to improve access for neurodivergent and disabled audiences or planning on showing Relaxed Screenings in your venue. I can help with programming and curation, mentoring, marketing support, venue advice and access and staff training.

  • looking for an independent film programmer and curator. As a neurodivergent programmer, I am particularly looking for opportunities to curate accessible film events and seasons and can offer additional access support around this.

  • looking for access support and coordination services for events. This is best included in the planning of a project so that appropriate adaptations can be discussed and included in a budget.

I would also love to work with a broad range of health, social care or disability focused organisations. I can plan bespoke projects and facilitate workshops for projects focused on accessible film screenings, film watching, programming and events planning.

Get in touch if you are:

A health, social care or disability focused organisation, a school, or a community organisation who is interested in using film to:

  • Provide a social activity or an event for your members, which can support social inclusion, provide events training, support film literacy and provide accessibility and disability awareness training.

  • Plan an event which helps to raise awareness of an issue which affects neurodivergent and disabled people and promotes access and inclusion.

Long term plans

This year I hope to establish Daydream Cinema as an organisation which connects the North East film and social care sectors with the social model of disability at its heart.

Film is an accessible medium which has powerful potential to bring people together to focus on important issues in our communities and in the world. I want to bring the positive benefits of film watching and engagement to communities, focusing on neurodiversity and disability access and inclusion.

I am working towards a Daydream Cinema Festival, which will aim to work with film, community and social care organisations to provide a range of neurodivergent-led film events with diverse content and catering for diverse audiences.

I am looking forward to connecting with your organisation and talking about how we can work together!
