About
I’m Midnight, founder of Daydream Cinema, an autistic-owned film exhibition organisation focusing on accessible screenings, events and programming opportunities for neurodivergent and disabled people.
I have worked in the film exhibition sector for around 20 years, developing knowledge and experience in cinema access, operations, marketing, projection and programming.
I have many years experience working Front of House in arts organisations and cinemas. This helps me to understand the broader intersectional barriers audiences face in attending venues and the barriers employees face in these work settings.
I use this experience, and my own as a multiply neurodivergent and disabled person and carer for other disabled people, to inform my work.
What We Do
Daydream Cinema creates and supports accessible cinema screenings and film clubs for neurodivergent and disabled audiences.
Our screenings are rooted in the concept of Relaxed Screenings but can include a wide range of accessible and bespoke features.
Daydream Cinema Clubs develop social opportunities and support mental health and wellbeing for disabled people through regular community film screenings.
Daydream Cinema Screenings are public events organised with our Cinema Club members; helping participants learn to exhibit films and develop their transferable skills, experiences and self-confidence.
Daydream Cinema Experiences support individuals and small groups who cannot access public screenings due to their support needs to see films on the big screen.
Daydream Cinema Support helps exhibitors develop the accessibility of their offer and infrastructure through training and mentoring, marketing support, film programming and event curation.
