Relaxed Screenings

Relaxed screenings are film events where the environment is adjusted to be more accessible for a range of neurodivergent
and disabled audiences.

Film fans enjoy a screening at Daydream Cinema Day

This often includes changes to the environment such as lighting and sound levels, and a relaxed attitude to noise and movement from audience members.

Daydream Cinema recognises that neurodivergent and disabled audiences can have a wide range of access requirements and that one size doesn’t fit all.

We know relaxed screenings don’t meet the access requirements of all neurodivergent people. We seek to address the current imbalance of low levels of relaxed and supportive environment screenings for diverse audiences.

We believe film is an important tool to bring communities together, connect, advocate and educate. Finding ways to bring people with a wide range of access needs together is just as important as the experience of watching the film itself.
